Daniel Fahey, Ph.D. will speak about the interplay of natural resources and armed conflict in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Professor Fahey is a visiting associate professor of the practice in the Keough School of Global Affairs and the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies. While at Notre Dame, he is contributing expertise in policy studies and peace processes and collaborating with researchers on the Peace Accords Matrix. He also is working on a book manuscript about war in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Fahey earned a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley; a master’s degree from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University; and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame. His teaching and research expertise is in armed conflict, human rights, rebel movements, sub-Saharan Africa, socio-economic development, natural resources, and supply chains.
