Environmental Justice: A Native American Perspective

-

Location: 320 Malloy Hall

A guest lecture by Ian Zabarte, "Head Man", Western Shoshone

For three decades, Zabarte has served on the council of Western Shoshone Nation, served as its Secretary of State, and now as "Head Man". Zabarte has lectured all over the world on injustice to Native Americans, especially the injustices of above-ground nuclear weapons tests & uranium mines, mills, and nuclear-waste sites, most of which are on Native-American land.

He appears on TV, in government hearings, and as the featured subject of one program of Amy Goodman's "Democracy Now".
